Faculty and course facilitators can record and upload or embed a video to the course Home Page to welcome the learners. This provides an excellent opportunity for learners to get to know the instructor better – putting a face and voice to the name. Many instructors facilitate the learners getting to know each other in a similar way by having them record and upload a brief intro video to a discussion forum. Together, these intro videos begin to build the relationship between learners and learners to facilitator in a more meaningful way than just a photo or email.
Tip: Simply use your iPhone or Android to record a quick video, email it to yourself, and upload to Edvance360.
Additionally, this video tool on the course Home Page can be used to post weekly announcements, reminders, etc. Just make sure to let the learners know that it will be different each week!
Navigate to your Course > Settings > Details > Introduction Video and upload a video (less than 50MB) or add embed code, then select the Save button. The video will display on learner’s course homepage. (See screenshot.)
